Wilma Gill received her early childhood education at Hindsbury Primary School. She later went on to St. Michael’s Girl school and completed her high school education at Bishop’s Anstey High School in Trinidad. During her high school years whilst attending a Billy Graham crusade, she accepted Christ as her Saviour at the age of 14.
On graduating from school, she worked in the Claims Department of the Phoenix Insurance Company in Trinidad until the year 1967 when she heeded the call of God to go into the ministry. To equip her in fulfilling God’s call on her life, she attended the West Indies School of Theology from 1967 – 1970. After Graduation, Wilma worked at the Head Office of the Pentecostal Assemblies of The West Indies as the first Secretary to the General Superintendent, Rev. Patrick Ryan, now deceased.
A few years later she returned to the West Indies School of Theology to fill the vacancy of Registrar and ministered there until 1978, when at the invitation of Rev. Dr. Holmes Williams, she returned to her country, Barbados to be involved in ministry at The People’s Cathedral. During the 28 years at the Cathedral, she has been Assistant Pastor and personal secretary to the Pastor, Principal Secretary of TPC and is responsible for the Nursery, weddings, Memorial Services, Baby Dedications, visitations, Sunday school, and Captains.
Since the inception of WIST Barbados, she has lectured in Theology 1&11, Old Testaments Survey 1, Prophets, Church History1, PAWI Polity.
Her involvement in ministry at TPC has been fulfilling and rewarding and she looks forward to many more years of fruitful service.
